Athletic Philosophy
The students activities department is dedicated to interscholastic activities as a vital component of EIS education. Athletics will be a positive learning experience for our students if they recognize that they may achieve their highest personal potential only by embracing a lifestyle dedicated to competition, integrity, and self-discipline.
In addition, selection to a team is both an honor and a privilege, and as such, carries responsibilities commensurate with leadership roles. As leaders and as very visible representatives of EIS, all athletes have the obligation to represent themselves in an exemplary manner.
EIS students must be recognized for the good in which they accomplish. As such, athletes must be made aware of the results of their inappropriate actions, which would be detrimental to themselves and EIS. Students must realize that decisions and consequences are part of learning responsibility.
Dishonest, unsportsmanlike behavior and use of controlled substances cannot and will not be tolerated at EIS. Students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above to play for any EIS school team.
